Professor Gabriel Eckstein will speak on "The Challenge of the Rule of Capture in Texas" on December 8, 2004, at the conference on High Plains Groundwater Resources: Challenges and Opportunities. The conference will be held in Lubbock at the Civic Center December 8-10.
Professor Gabriel Eckstein will speak at the 2004 National Ground Water Association Conference on "Conceptual Models of Transboundary Aquifers for Use in the Application of International Law." The conference will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada December 12-15, 2004.
December Hooding will take place on December 18, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in the Allen Theatre (first floor of Student Union Building). There are 27 graduates on the list. Don Hunt is the main address speaker, Bryan Eisenbise is the class speaker and Prof. Bubany is Hooding Professor. The reception will be held in the Forum of the Law School. Assistant Dean Amy L. Jarmon has been selected by the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association as the Associate Director for their summer seminar in Cambridge, England. The continuing legal education seminar which will be held July 10 - 15, 2005 at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge. Dean Jarmon will give the opening and closing lectures for the seminar. The comparative law seminar for American attorneys focuses on the legal system for England and Wales and aspects of European Community law.
Congratulations to 2L students Joy Gibbs & Mandy Gundlach for finishing 3rd at last weekend's ABA Regional Negotiation Competition held in Fort Worth! The field of 24 teams included students from law schools in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
