Professor Phelan will present “An Overview of Museum & Art Law” at the “Italy: Culture, Cuisine and the Art and Antiquity Ownership Debate” CLE compliments of Thomson West’s Diversity Planning Committee and Thomson University’s CLE Program. The event will be held Friday, June 23, 2006 in Town Hall at Thomson West in Eagan, MN.

Professor Gerry W. Beyer will be the lead-off speaker at the 30th Annual Advanced Estate Planning and Probate Course, a three-day CLE sponsored by the State Bar of Texas in Houston on June 7, 2006. Beyer’s presentation is entitled Case Law Update and discusses judicial developments relating to the Texas law of intestacy, wills, estate administration, trusts, and other estate planning matters. The discussion of each case concludes with a moral, i.e., the important lesson to be learned from the case. By recognizing situations which have led to time consuming and costly litigation in the past, estate planners may reduce the likelihood of the same situations arising with their clients.
