Two Tech Law professors quoted in Texas Supreme Court opinion

On June 26, 2009, the Texas Supreme Court issued its opinion in Holmes v. Beatty (No. 07-0785), a case involving survivorship rights in community property.

The late Professor Emertius W. Reed Quilliam, Jr.'s article entitled A Requiem for Hilley, Is Survivorship Community Property a Solution Worse than the Problem? which appeared in Volume 21 of the Texas Tech Law Review is extensively quoted for his predictions of the types of issues that would arise because of the legislature's passage of legislation authorizing community property survivorship agreements.

Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professor of Law Gerry W. Beyer's treatise, The Texas Law of Wills, was quoted with regard to the history and intent behind this legislation.
