Graduates of the Texas Tech University School of Law maintained the law school’s historically superior performance on Texas Bar Examinations by topping 91% passing for first time exam takers on the July 2007 Bar. The overall pass rate for graduates of the nine Texas law schools was 89%. Dean Walter Huffman noted that “this result is in keeping with the over 90% pass rate for Tech Law graduates over the last sixteen years”. “The law faculty and I are proud of our graduates and very pleased that such a high percentage passed the difficult Texas Bar Examination on the first attempt” Huffman stated, “and we are also quite pleased to learn of reports from at least six other state jurisdictions – ranging from Colorado to Massachusetts – where 100% of Texas Tech Law graduates taking those state bars passed on the first attempt as well.”
